I've gotten three phone calls from this number so far tonight.
It's some recorded message offering to help me sell my car. I listed it on AutoTrader yesterday, so I know this is the cause. The question is, did AutoTrader give them my phone number or do they have a bot that captures this. I know they are based in Nevada. Maybe tabs or Jordi could firebomb them for me? |
I did a Google search. Lots of complaints from people that have listed their cars on AutoTrader and Craiglist.
I also filled out a Do-Not-Call complaint. |
I don't think it's the Auto Trader. More likely a bot.
This (sorta) happened to me when I put a rental in the local paper. I was inundated for MONTHS after it was rented with calls from folks who purchased "homes for rent" listings from websites. I told the callers how they were scammed and most were pizzed. |
Yeah, it's a bot... I got it as well. Asshat. When I was trying to sell my Porsche on Craigslist, "Nick Price" emailed me every time about advertising on Porscha Trader. Damn bots.
|
I don't recall the number, but the same crap happened to me. I listed it on Autotrader and Craigslist, and my phone started ringing immediately with jerks trying to sell me their 'national vehicle marketing services'. Wankers.
|
Maybe it is me trying to dissuade you from selling my car.

Mabye Pelicans could organize a little payback.
Everyone call at 6pm and keep them on the phone for exactly 5 minutes with whatever information or stalling technique. Then everyone call at 7pm with the same thing. Then at 8pm just say "__please__don't call Chris, you _nice person__" and hang up. |
took six months to get them to stop calling
|
Good. It's working.
;) |
Bastard!

Advertise in the Trader, CL, or cars.com or newspaper... you get a call from these guys.
