Question Any Peugeot 505 owners that can help a lady out?

My lady friend has an issue on her car and I am trying to lead her in the correct path to get it fixed. Won't shift is the issue.

Thanks in advance!

Dal

guessing it's an auto?

My Dad had a 505 turbo diesel. Really a nice driving car.

The auto tranny was the only thing on it that did NOT break, I think, though.

Pretty sure it's a ZF unit... FWIW

Check the fluid?

Its easy. Sell it and buy a real car! Sorry but frog cars and "understanding" are two worlds colliding IMHO.

I am assuming it is an automatic. I am waiting on some info from her yet.

To sell it one must get it running, geez ok you don't like a French car but I did not ask for opinions I asked for some help.

Thanks

Much better to be rocking something like a mid 80s Jeep Wrangler, right?

hint...even the iconic American vehicle had a "frog" tranny.

I think that the Peugeot 505 is one of the models that share a lot of commonality with Volvo and Saab models of the same era.

You may be able to find a Volovo or Saab mechanic that is familiar with your transmission.

Good Luck

Man, if I owned a couple of Jags I'd go easy on other people's cars...

Mine drive. The 1969 has almost 700,000 miles on it and the S-type just keeps chugging along. Jags are not unreliable, they just have a learning curve that many do not take the time to learn.

The french have been difficult with spare parts for eons on most anything. Why buy a car in America you cannot get spares for?
