Class warfare over coffee? WhoTF are you to decide what coffee people of various career paths should drink? I thought this was America.

I don't know why we're all arguing about coffee...none of us with REAL p-cars even have cupholders.

I like black tea; it should remain unregulated.

Gnaw, the TC guy who runs the Caffeine Desk was pissed for a day when Starbucks closed stores without clearing it with him, but he made up for it by cutting a side deal with Oil jacking up the price of crude the rest of yesterday and today. He made back his quota for the quarter and is content to let things run their course.

The Zionists leave the coffee markets alone. All the big cartels have good relations with each other. We don't cut into each other's turf. The big wars of the 20s caused the Great Depression we've all learned our lesson about manipulating someone else's market. Anyway, I think they're busy on a project in Africa this year. Actually, I think they might have been doing something with tea. Hey, maybe you're to something there. I'll call my buddy and see if he thinks the Zionists are behind it. If they are, heads will roll. If the economy does a 1970s redux, now you'll know why: Gang wars between the TC and Zionists. I hope it doesn't come to that. I'd short tea futures in the mean time if I were you.

Class warfare, or a commentary on utterly mindless excess?

Too much coffee of any brand will make you want to go pee.

While I don't frequent Starbucks, I find their stores attractive. Lately, I've noticed many empty corner lots not too far from home. Some have been vacant for a long time. I'd rather see a store like Starbucks than weeds, dirt, chainlink, and related blight. Just another sign of the times.

Last time I was visiting a Raytheon facility in Mass. I swear I counted at least five DDs in a six mile stretch of the same GD road. They are just as bad in the over population department.

Only one Starbucks along that same route. I ONLY hit them if I'm on site somewhere. Otherwise I'll still continue to support the same three local joints that roast their own beans in house. My fave is Aptos Coffee Roasting Co. for the last 20 of the 30 years they've been there.

DD is huge in CT & MA. It's like a swarm of locust.

strupgolf 07-02-2008 12:56 PM

While I've only been to a Starbucks once, and have never had their coffee, I dont find it all that weird that they oversaturaded the market with things that people dont want, or cant get anywhere else. I could care less if there was a Starbucks or not, because there was coffee before them and there will coffee after them, just not at $4.00 per cup. It was only a matter of time.

Judging by the fine looking women I saw there, they are selling shyte loads of them doughnuts.

Hawktel 07-02-2008 12:59 PM

I have a local coffee house here I visit. Its what works for me, but when I travel Starbucks works. It is so ubiquitous, I always know what I'm going to be getting.

I have that mental image and, damn!, I wish it would go away!

scottmandue 07-02-2008 01:07 PM

I just want to go on record that I am totally OK with starbux using cow urine to brew their coffee.

I stand corrected...10 in under a 3.5 mile radius

Well somebody ought to tan you hide!

Take refuge from a downpour in your wet $20 Tijuauna leather jacket and by your smell the standees in line will think yer a veteran Buckaroo! :D

JavaBrewer 07-02-2008 01:41 PM

Starbucks coffee is $1.85 a cup NOT $4.00. The frilly drinks are $4.00+ but then they don't serve those at the local 7-11/WaWa/gas station/etc...

Porsche-O-Phile 07-02-2008 02:05 PM

Starbucks is not a coffee company. They're a real estate company that dabbles in milkshakes.
