Ok this pi$$es me off. there is only 1 National Anthem. Let me repeat that for anybody who may have missed it. ONE!
If my countrys theme song is offensive to you get you a$$ out of my country.
If you think we need a song for every group of people who live here, you may follow the first group of people in getting out of my country.
We are all different people, we all see things through a seperate set of eyes but we are all Americans at the end of the day. When will people see this and just stand together, like we used to do? We used to be a proud people, now all we do is whine and bitc^ about what they need, and how the country should bend to thier will.
Get over it, get a clue, or let me show you the way to the ocean.

On this topic, the wife and in laws were at the Rockies game weekend before last and half the audience didn't know OUR national anthem. About 3/4's of the way though people started clapping cheering and sitting down, then they stood back up when they realized there was another verse. Mind you the lyrics were on the jumbo-tron as well, which I thought was there to keep people in sync, but I thin its there for people that don't know the words. I was floored by this.

We may have to share it in California, the LA Times last Sunday had an article about the History of Mexicalifonia.

If some of your poor immigrants stood up and butchered the Swedish national anthem you guys would be mad as well.

Its not something that any country would accept.

Well Markus, for me it goes like this. If you are gonna burn my flag make sure to wrap yourself in it first. If you are going to be disrespectful of my country, get out. Everybody is entitled to an opinion, and I am glad that I live somewhere where they can voice their opinion. just don't tread on the country, and by turning your back on the National Anthem, or the Pledge of Allegiance, you are spitting in the face of every American. And Every soldier who has layed down their lives so that morons can have the freedoms to be idiots.
You would be better off to spit on me than my country.

Imagine you are at a big event, World Cup Game, Sweden vs Norway, or whoever your rival is, sorry, not up on that really. Anyway, you get somebody up there to sing the Swedish National Anthem, and they start singing God Save the Queen. Would people cheer, or boo?

Did this dumbazz singer think this would help race relations somehow?

It's the level of self-absorption that bothers me. Some people are so busy making statements about what's important to them, they cannot consider what's important to us - the collective us. And see, it's funny too because some of these same people are quick to be aggrieved at the slightest perceived offense against them.

I agree, if you don't want to sing our national anthem, DECLINE and let someone else do it.
Do not mess with the symbols that men and women laid down there lives for.
