Time will tell, but I predict you're going to be dead wrong. I'm still undecided and as much as I admire McCain's service, I feel strongly that at his age, he's simply not up to the task at hand, and would simply be a figurehead for more of the SOS. Obama, he's just another slick talking politician, but imo, "for better or worse", he's going to win, and it's not even going to be that close. I think the current state of affairs speak for itself..."we" Republican's have "screwed the pooch", and deserve what's coming imo.

NOTHING could be worse than the performance of our current administration imo. It's my "gut feel" that Obama will be elected, but I'm counting on a few good old fashioned fillibusters to prevent him from doing TOO much damage :)

Island, I really have no big hopes at all, but I can sure tell when our policies have been an utter disaster. Yes, I DO think there are a few Republican senators with cojones big enough to fillibuster any legislation that moves too far to the left...the "mandate" crap that GWB espoused was just that. Go too far in either extreme imo, and it should be "squashed" :).

ps: Acutally, the Dem congress has indeed had an impact the past couple of years...stalemate has been a blessing compared to the first six years of "rubberstamping" GWB. That doesn't mean I'm "for" Obama, so don't get me wrong...that's just what "I" see coming based upon the mood of the country in general.

First; to say nothing could be worse; you don't have much imagination. These past years of the Bush admin have been of great stability for the country, Esp considering we took the 9/11 attacks early on.

Second, the rubberstamp will be out for Obama (should he get that far). I don't think it is reasonable to think we can rely on filibusters for much protection. And then, there are the powers of the CiC that are not checked/affected by the minority in anyway.

And then there is the division Obama brings. He is a polarizing guy. Which brings me back to: to say nothing could be worse than Bush; you don't have much imagination.

As a lifelong Republican, all I have to say is "unh unh" (or however you spell it) :)

McCain -

The nation NEEDS:
- A president that cheated repeatedly on his wife that suffered a horific car accident
- A couple that has had their conduct labelled as unprofessional as it relates to a Savings and Loan scandal
- A first lady that was addicted to opium products
- A first lady who stole opium drugs from a medical charity designed to help kids

I mean come on - with all those experiences... he's almost a liberal! :)

The last time I voted for President because I liked them was Ronald Reagan, since then I have voted against someone, this time will be like that,
Voting against Obama.

Writing in myself.......I am going to legalize reefer and tax it, allow the family farmer to grow it, use the scrap for fuel for diesel fuel cost reduction, release all prisoners in for reefer charges only and cut deals with the Columbians to assist growing it.....

Why?!.....Give all the family farmers back their ability to farm and make more money and reducing corporate farms taking their farming operations away and back to the true farmer, the families in which will put the FF back to the numbers it used to be and they will not have to work 3 jobs just to make ends meet.

The residual from the crop can also be sold to fuel the trucking industry instead of relying on grain and the residue remaining is 10 times the amount any other alternate choice, ie..switch grass, veggy oil and the host of other sources. Corn residue is not used and is needed for no till operations other wise it would lead the field in residue sources.....Resins in reefer are flamable and would produce a better burning alternative and tons of it! Not one bit of the palnt would go to waste and it would be even more income for the farmers. If farmers sold grain residue they would be very well off but they do not sell grain residue.
Releasing prisoners in for reefer only offenses would reduce the cost to the taxpayer keeping them incarcerated to the tune of 10 grand per prisoner= 100,000 prisoners X 10,000 is huge savings to you the taxpayer.

Deal with the international communities such Columbia to give their farmers work that is being taken by the illegal growers there and be able to control or remove the black market from taking our money and reduce costs on drug smuggling operations, hence keeping most of our money here instead of to kingpins.

And last but not least give the government a bit of control over underage usage as is now by setting an age limit to purchase ie; booze. This will keep our children from getting stoned too early in life as they develop reducing the need for Ritalin as it seems is a huge deal now days. Now they can pay attention because they are not stoned not because they have a need for a pill to catch their attention. Kill childhood obesity as well too....well ok a bit of a stretch but the munchies do happen and a stoned kid is going devour anything they can, they eat like pigs not stoned as it is so why enhance it by them having the ability to buy reefer.

Then I will allocated one barrel of oil drilled from my grandmas backyard free to every motorist in the USA per year....hey it is better than you get now, don't laugh!

Tax revenue from reefer will go to health care, education and the elderly so they can reduce the need for SS benefits thus reducing your amount contributed to SS. Instead of yor tax dollars going into a fund you will never see, you keep the money and reinvest it here and now which does produce growth and research, in short you will be investing in America not the Social Security Administration and all the welfare recipients. Welfare will not exsist in my administration, if you can work, you will work whether you like it or not, no choice, so get ready to start cleaning highways and city streets of all the litter.
