Unbelievable A Pro Gun Democrat Politician
As I have reported Las Vegas is going to be the home of the largest shooting facility in the nation. Clark County is spending $63,000,000.00 of Federal monies to build a state of the art shooting facility. It is due to be opened in March of 2009. One of the sponsors of the Park, who pushed a bill through Congress to get the Federal Government to donate 1200 acres of BLM land worth about $12,000,000 or so to the facility was none other than Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Now what in the world is happening...it is very simple really. The plan is to host national shooting events with its corresponding influx of people and money (there are going to be RV Hook Ups and Camping Facilities on the grounds. To that end there is a New Station Hotel Casino being built in close proximity to provide hotel accommodations. Further the Shooting Park is the cornerstone of bringing more firearms related business into Las Vegas along the lines of the new Furniture Mart that has been built along the 15 fwy. Or there is the desire of making Las Vegas the permanent home of the annual Shot Show. So what other states may not want for political reasons Las Vegas is more than happy to take to diversify business and industry. And the catalyst behind this idea is Harry and at least Rory Reid (County Commissioner). Amazing...

Let go of the stereotypes. Whether or not you cons are paying enough attention to notice this or not........the liberal party's biggest political liability is, and has always been, its wide diversity. The Republican party has a fairly easy time developing an election "platform." The Dems have a terrible time with that because of the RANGE of beliefs there. Then again, I just wasted more keystrokes. You guys have made your sweeping generalizations and that's that. Data is no longer being collected.

I just gave you Boyz something that not many people know. Not even some of the local pols...
Figure it this way...More business means..more money and jobs coming into Vegas. Who is at the center of the political power structure here...The Reids. Nothing shady here. The Station Casinos get a payback for their support of the Reids with an increase in revenue from their Hotel/Casino that will provide accomodations for those shooting events. There will be new County jobs, and Union Jobs in the Hotels. The Costruction of the Park will provide jobs and give construction companies a profit. So this is basically a win win situation for everybody concerned. Where I can get on board with this is that this is a pro Nevada deal.

Thanks Supe,
all was fine till you said 'doing because it makes sense' I no longer believe that any politician does something because it's right, or makes sense.. What's in for me, family, friends & next election has long been the norm for both parties. Rika |

Absolutely true. Their entire world revolves around self-interest and especially the love of their constituency. When I say "made sense," I meant "made political sense."
