Gmeteer I agree RE the wheels, but it does give an 'era appropriate' look

Grudk,
If you were to see it, you would ask why it is so cheap.
Looks like resto was done to the highest level.
Items that they should not have touched (glass, steering wheel, etc) were left alone.
All Chrome looks original and restored.
Wish I had some extra cash!!

Wikd89, that, indeed, IS a nice car!

I'm partial to coupes (though there was a time in my life when if the car had a fixed top it was not a "sports car", it was a "grand touring car" (I was quite snobbish about that!).

I think, not sure, that E-type coupes sell for significantly less than roadsters, Damn! I shoulda stayed outta this! I'm getting the itch!

Regarding headroom, my buddy's early coupe posed no problem for either of us. I"m 6'-1 1/2" and Steve was 6'-4" tall.

Also, regarding taking care when opening the bonnet and the XKE being the first hatch-back, this pic says it all. I'd imagine that most people would be surprised that the hatch is hinged on the side rather than the top.

Gawd, those were beautiful cars!

And the view through the windscreen of an XKE is, in my opinion, unsurpassed by ANY car, past or present!

Good luck with your search!

Darisc,
You are so right about the coupes. They are so unique and interesting; and the early years were beautiful. Covered headlights and thin bumpers are a must for me.

I had a friend in the Valley who restored a 64 right hand drive to perfection. I am talking about each and every screw. It was Pebble Beach ready; well at least back then. When he was done, he started looking for his next project (Ferrari 246) to restore.

Oh so many great cars. Add a DB4 to those two as well. It never ends..:p:D

They now have new electronic SU fuel pumps. Make the same old clicking noise but no points in them, so they are reliable as the day is long. Look just the same as well!

Besides, fuel pumps are supposed to suck..:D

Joe: Lump is Brit-speak for any engine..., i.e. He dropped the old lump and replaced it with a Chevy V8. Could refer to any engine AFAIK...

Bill,

Go to the Jag Lovers website and its used with Jags to mean any non-Jag engine in the car. If you go to the "Web based forums" link you will see a section for "Lumps" ...

I know what you mean but we are talking Jags here, not Brit car speak! :)

Joe
