Twilight Zone marathon...

Anyone watching it? It's the coolest stuff ever showed on TV. Still timeless and thought provoking.

Any favorite episodes?

"Nightmare at 20,000 feet" with William Shatner is one of my favorites.

It usually makes all the marathons.

Whenever I fly at night, I can't bring myself to look out the plane window because of that episode with Shatner and the beast on the wing...

I like the one with the devil who gets locked into a room with a stick......David

I just found that they are airing the episode....."The Howling Man" at 3:30 pm.

Thanks David!

The one where the women is burning up from the heat and at the end her nightmares are because the world is getting cold.

On another note, I used to teach class to Field Training Officers. I used an episode called "Changing of the Guard" to illustrate some points. It was very effective and unusual to use a "Twilight Zone" episode in a police training course.

"To Serve Man"... hey whatyaknow, it's a cookbook!

It was great to be a kid in the 60's with Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Alfred Hitchcock, etc. No color TV required!

What's the one where the guy takes off in a single engine plane and comes back twenty years later or so, the plane lands and there's a skeleton at the controls??

Had nightmares about that for weeks! My favorite.

Which channel was it on?

trekkor 07-04-2008 07:39 AM

'Sci-Fi'

Cool, thanks for the tip. A little before my time but I watched the reruns back in the 70's.

Is that creature in the plane window with Bill a relative of the woman who gets a facelift and the doctors are horrified when the wraps come off? She's actually hot but they are all butt ugly.

Am I the only one who clicked on this thread expecting a topic about running?

My parents are slowly collecting all of the Twilight Zone on DVDs. I love the episode with the beast on the wing, truly excellent.

Jack Klugman and Jonathan Winters...the pool episode.

"Time Enough To Last"...is my fav with Burgess Meredith. A book reader that is prohibited by others from his favorite thing, reading books. Then in the end he gets his wish then breaks his glasses.
Plan on seeing all if possible today.

That's one of the best, I think it was called "Eye of the Beholder."

Where the woman gets plastic surgery on her face to correct her horrible deformities.

The whole episode is in the hospital, with her in the bed with her face completely wrapped up.

They unwrap her to reveal . . . she is a beautiful woman (by the viewers standards).

Then they pan back and show the Drs. and nurses, and they are all horrible looking monsters. Only then do you realize that during the entire episode, they somehow never showed the faces of any of the Drs or nurses. Amazing they could do that without the viewer noticing!

Of course, the message of the relativity of beauty is good, too.

I also like the one where the WWII soldiers appear to travel back in time on Custar's battlefield.

The twist at the end of that one is cool.

How about the one where a completely inexperienced newcomer with a shadowy background and big ears uses his invisible powers of persuasion to charm the American citizenry to elect him leader of the free world and... wait, my bad, that's not Twilight Zone. Or is it? (Queue music.)

Too many favorites to list!
Call me a geek, I am a die-hard TZ fan, have all the seasons on DVD.

Nothing better after a long night of drinking than coming home and popping in a few episodes :)
