My father used to have the same problem with the Stars on the hood of his MB's
One day he took out the 220 coupe. Parks it. Comes back and someone had snatched the turn signal lenses which on that car are mounted on the front top of the fenders. Not only did they take his, they replaced them with an old mismatched set, a yellow and a faded red one that looked pink. Nice. |

Somehow I don't think your daddy had the same problem... |
An old uncle who had a 1950`s Rolls Royce used to put a fake plastic reproduction of his hood figure for daily use, and kept the original one for weddings and such. I think they hide electrically now. Low lifes have always been after luxury cars trophys...I guess that is all they can have.
