!#@&)*!^$^&) Firefox

So I launch FireFox and it updates me to the latest and greatest version 2.0.0.15 and I find all my bookmarks are gone. What gives? Did this on both of my computers now.

Is there anyway to restore my bookmarks?

Thanks.

You should find the file here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\g9wdcwwl.default

Replace "Administrator" with your log on name. Or, search for "bookmarks.*" (without the quotes). If you are lucky, you'll find a "bookmarks.bak". IT may be a recent backup. Save a copy and rename to bookmarks.html. Make sure it is in the correct path. This should get your bookmarks back.

It is odd that a FF update would do this though.

Dave

There also seems to be a directory under the above path named "bookmarkbackups". Check here as well.

You are my hero.
Thanks.

You are welcome. I hope you were able to find a backup.

Yeah the FF updates are really irritating.

The way it nags you and forces updates on launch really pisses me off.

I've stopped using it.

its way better than microsucks version internet exploder. It won't download the bad stuff as often.

How about the stupid reminder that tells you that you have unused icons on your desktop? SmileWavy

X2. It took me a bit to get used to it but the ability to taylor it to me needs far out weighs the little quirks.

I have been using firefox for quite some time. I have not had any problems with it hiding the bookmarks or anything else after the automatic updates. I guess it may be just how mine is set-up??
