Drive-in America

Just curious...Do you still have the resto drive-in we often see in the 60-70 movies ?...I think it was a great time for car lovers. Our in Montreal, Every Wednesday and Saturday, classic cars are welcome to give us a mean to share and talk about our passion....

There are many left and flourishing. Here's one near me that's a nationwide chain. Excellent chili dogs and onion rings.

Anyone else remember when A&W used to have carhops? Those giant frosty mugs of rootbeer with burgers on that huge metal tray would hang from the window and brace against the door. Hell, that weight would crush the door panels of todays cars.

Sonic!

We have a newly built Sonic, a few old A&W's, some frozen custard places and they are all within driving distance. On summer evenings and weekends they fill up with hot rods and American iron.

We had a Mr Waffles here. Was once a real 50's drive in. Food was good and cheap. They were even open 24/7. The problem was a bad location. Did not last 6 months. Been for sale for a year now.

My wife just brought me a fat-free fruit shake from Sonic. Lots of bananas and pineapple, very good!

Two of my buddies got rather stoned one night & went to the local A&W to feed in a borrowed Lincoln with power windows. Can you guess what happened? I am sorry I missed it . . .

Sonics are cool but the odor of the food lingers and comes out of your pores the next day.

Art,

Sounds good. May have to run up and get a couple and embellish with some Spiced Rum
