Save a prayer for my nephew

Got some bad news last night -- my 14 year old nephew, Attila is in the Child ICU in a hospital in Florida. High fever, low blood pressure, and he has lost consiousness.

Two weeks ago, he was complaining about headaches and stomach pains. Hospitalized then - they did tests including a spinal tap for meningitis, which came back negative. (They did another spinal tap last night with the same negative results) Anti-biotics were given, and he got a little better.

Two days ago, he was at scout camp, and started to get the same symptoms - headaches and stomach aches. Next day, the camp counselors told my sister to get him -- by then his temp reached 103.

They took him to the hosptial (in Lakeland). He suffered a couple of seisures, and his temp would not come down. Catscan revealed nothing special at first, but later, they did see he had fluid on his brain. They stabilized his BP, and had him medi-vac'd to Tampa, where they have a child ICU.

During the night, they tried to stabilize him, but his BP keeps falling. His is still unconcious, and they can't revive him. Neurologists will be looking at him today, and try to determine what's going on -- so far no diagnosis.

Attila has been through a lot in his life so far -- his parents have gone through a bitter divorce, he's had a tough time at school.... but this is just terrible. I know that he's young and up until now was pretty healthy. Pray that his little body can be healed.

We considered that (my wife and I). However, given that he had the same symptoms a couple of weeks ago (though not as severe), we believe it is related to that episode, and not something new. That said, he could have been bitten by a tick at home as well.
