If anyone would have bothered to read the webpage, they would see that, yes, it was originally built for divers as protection. It's was secondarily built as last chance protection in the wild while among Big Scary Animals. It was then mentioned in passing that, yes, it possible could be used to kill a person, but that it was never meant for that. There's examples, tech drawing, all sorts of stuff there which would answer any and all questions posed in this thread.
