That people argue left wing media bias at all is laughable. Then the arguments of "who owns the media companies?" lol, please. Do some research on how stories come to be in media, a vast majority are written by the reporter themselves after that they have team writers for the bigwigs. But rest assured no corporate boss is writing news stories. Get real.

I am friends with two anchors, one is the actual #1 guy on a big affiliate here and the other is a wing man(woman). They don't get marching orders.

Most of the folks on Murdoch's level donate to both parties just to hedge their bets and ensure access. Sure, the party in power gets more, but they both get $$. When I worked at the RNC, we got major checks from the NEA (teachers' union) and Handgun Control.

What they should really analyze, especially those who support the McCain-Feingold Law, is the ad equivalency of media bias. For example, if a full page ad in the NYT costs $125k, every full page they devote to helping the Dems should be counted as a $125k in-kind contribution. By that standard individual reporters' checks are a pittance.

Pretty simple, Cairns. Virtually anyone can explain it to you. News professionals gather, and pass on.......INFORMATION. Colleges are places where certain people (call them "students") go to learn stuff. The people they learn this stuff from are called "professors."

As you may recall, I have a strong suspicion that liberalism is also positively correlated with education level and intellectual activity, but have not found legitimate research around this theory. Seattle is known to be one of the most educated of metropolitan areas and I think you guys know what our politics look like here.

I digress. Yes, reporters are liberal and so are writers and they construct stories. Media owners do not write the stories. Hundreds are written each day (that'd be a lot of writing for one billionaire) and owners are busy banging their personal assistants. Murdock is, of course, a different "story."
