Anyone take DHEA?
Results? Side effects? What dosages?
I have read a great deal about it. I am under the impression that it is reasonably safe at dosages of less than 50mg a day if you do not have a history of cancer in your family. Its not for me. |
Potential to become the grumpiest guy on the block. With the biggest tits.

As for being grumpy, it's been shown that mood swings are more common in men with low-T levels more so that men with normal levels. To the OP. I'd suggest to your friend to go get blood tests run for a complete profile of hormones, PSA etc. before taking anything. If the Testosterone levels are low in the range and all other indicators are fine, find a Doctor that is familiar with Testosterone therapy and get treated. High levels of DHEA Testosterone is also what causes baldness and excessive hair growth depending on the person. I've taken DHEA however would suggest getting regular testosterone (injections work best) rather than fool with DHEA. Frequent blood tests are impotant too while getting therapy. |
DHEA is a precursor to both estrogen and Testosterone. Men taking it will produce more testosterone and Women taking it will produce more estrogen. If you have a history where this will be a problem, I wouldn't take it (My wife would not be a good candidate due to cysts).
I'm taking it as part of my weight loss program. It is mentioned as being potentially effective. For a younger person, I doubt it will have much effect, since there is already lots of testosterone. For the guy going into his 40's I think it helps. Side effects, so far: Well, to be brutally honest, mid-night and early morning wood, like in the old days! |
