Yup, that's me. Scaredy kat. We liberals are so scared that we're willing to set aside any and all civil liberties so the terrorists don't use their WMD on us.

Setting aside any and all civil liberties is surely hyperbole. Can you name 5 civil liberties that you've given up this decade (see if you can name liberties more significant than limitations on your carry-on luggage) ?

How do you propose that real wages be increased?

Okay, you've convinced me. Let's deal with this globalization threat by letting real wages continue to fall until they come into balance with those of Pakistani workers.

C'mon, Hugh. That's not true and you know it. Democrats do not rejoice in increased welfare rolls. Let's look at it this way, which I believe is less of a mischaracterization than yours: Democrats show their compassion by helping people who need it. Republicans show their compassion by denying their help.

What's so hard to understand?

A person working a cash register while smacking their gums and talking on their blue tooth while they attempt to check my items correctly (while I bag them) deserves to be paid what? Why should their wages continue to increase soley based on company profits?

And I know the Walmart culture quite well. I had 37 Walmart locations in two states as a vendor for the Connection Centers. In addition I have A 2.5 million dollar annual pay-roll so I'll put my skills at creating positive EBITDA up against anyone posting in this thread.

If people want to earn more money, get an education and work for it doing something that contributes to the bottom line more so than scanning coded bars.
