How can I keep my free internet at the resort
I have 24 hours of free internet, I think I am linked up with the lobby wireless point because my room is just about right above it.
When I first logged onto the server it told me I had 24 hours free. So, it there a way to keep getting it? I get so ticked off when they milk me for $10 a day fo internet access and next week I will need it for work. Meanwhile I can go to a Motel6 or 9 or whatever they are called and get free access in my room, but at a Westin you have to pay. 7 this evening I have to start paying but I bet there is a way I can log off and back on as a new user. |
Starbucks?

If you are staying there more than one day, you should get free 24 hour access everyday. You will simply have to resubmit your info when the timer goes off.
|
Can't you turn the calendar back 24 hrs. on your computer or get a new IP?
|
Log onto another nearby hotels service? I've done that before.

buy a DeLorean, find a flux capacitor, and go back to yesterday.
If you need it for work, then work should pay for it. If you want free internet as part of your accommodations, then you need to pick a place that offers it. ur sounding like some liberal who wants something for nothing, and desires to be supported by the govt :p |
if you're ok with wireless packet tracing and reading, there are ways
but if you were ok with a packet trace, you wouldn't ask the question in the first place |

I might be resetting every 24 hours. I hope so, this is a $200+ a night joint and nickeling for internet (Which will cost me $120 over 12 days) just annoys me. I need to get an aircard and stop being at their mercy.. :( |
Some cellphone providers offer a plug in service to your laptop, see what they'll charge for a month.

Time's a tickin' Jim...

Found a second server and got another 24 hours. :D
I will eventually have to pay an dpaying another $100 on top of what I pay to stay here is in insult. Most of the idiots in this resort spend money like its going out of style some of us value a dollar. |
Set you laptop next to the window and search for new connections.
|
what's the internet? can I get it for free too?
|
Does it ask you for a user name and password? A few years ago I stayed at a place in Hawaii that charged for the internet. You had to create your own user name and password. I guessed Hawaii as and the username and password and I was able to get on

I had a hotel do that a while back. It was continuously free, but it required me to reset the connection every 24 hours -- annoying, but not expensive.
We also have Sprint cards, which are a true god-send. Not quite as fast as a good wired connection, but absolutely invaluable when in the field. If you can convince work to pay for it, it's worth it in spades. I won't travel again without one of those cards. Dan |
