SmartCar - revisited. New age SC

I lent my DeRosa road bike to my sister-in-law.
In return, she felt compelled to lend me her SmartCar.
I ignored the car, commuting via big single (Yamaha).
Rainy week, took the SC ( SmartCar),
Fantastic, barely burned any fuel.
Use the paddle shifters, keep it in the rev range,
good clean fun.
Park anywhere downtown, absolute chick magnet,
approached by women, every time I stopped.
I am buying one. Seriously. Ego be damned.

Did they ask you to go shopping with them?

dd74 08-02-2008 10:36 PM

You lent someone your DeRosa (sister or not)? That's like "Sure bud, you can borrow my wife for a night."

cantdrv55 08-02-2008 10:47 PM

Yeah, wow. Lending a DeRosa and getting to use a Smart Car is an even exchange.

A friend forgot he still had his DeRosa on top of his Camry and when he drove into his garage, it cracked in half. That night I saw an ex-Marine cry.

HardDrive 08-02-2008 10:51 PM

Did the women ask what salon you worked at?

(So sorry, but as a former boxster owner, you have no idea how much dung I had to endure :) )

Did that with my Colnago. Nothing happened to the bike (steel), but the rack was instant pretzel logic.

so what if chicks approach you every time
it's not like you can get any action after depositing yer nuts at "the gay reception"

chicks tend to feel comfortable around gay men, it's a fact
you will always find smoking hot chicks at gay places
that's why they approached you while driving the smart

you need to wisen up

creaturecat 08-02-2008 11:32 PM

Fantastic bike, the steel DeRosa.
Have 2 of them.
My Tomassini is sublime.
Too bad .....very little appreciation
for the truly finer things in life.

I'd feel far safer on my bike than in a so-called Smart Car, it costs less, gets better mileage and is way, way faster and more fun.

Rick Lee 08-02-2008 11:39 PM

What's homophobic about making fun of someone? I'm not afraid of lots of things I like to poke fun at.

svandamme 08-02-2008 11:45 PM

on a Porsche forum

i'm not homofobic, i'm just delivering the inevitable reply to the thread you posted

my reviews at work, generally are labeled with "met and exceeded expectation levels"
it's what i do

i apologize if you took it more seriously then intended

.....you know very well... this is an off topic forum
non Porsche related.
It worries me that you would ....being European
......... equate - SmartCar = Homo
......bit of a disappointment really,

svandamme 08-03-2008 12:09 AM

well, the only man i know that drives a Smart car, is gay

i'll tell him that you think he's a disappointment for causing a stereotype...

svandamme 08-03-2008 12:11 AM

most cars, you add monster truck wheels
they will be come serious and the driver will look manly

but even that fails when a Smart is involved
