What kind of tree is this?
I loathe this tree and what makes it better is that I have four of them in my front yard. I used to have 5 but one fell on my house:D They are about 70-90 ft tall and my wife wants them gone and I can't argue as they don't look too healthy and we may not be on vacation the next time one decides to use my home as a pillow.
Here is the leaf set, a broad leaf and a narrow leaf with 1-3 seedlets(which the trees drop by the millions). What is it? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1217861209.jpg |
My bet is a small leaf linden.

As long as you are not planning on eating it then who cares.
I say take em out before they get you. |

Good money in mature trees. Hope they turn into something profitable rather than a nuisance. You deserve a break. |
Lumber mills here are semi reluctant to take valley floor logs...worried about nails.
Dunno much about Linden wood tho...does it have a use in furniture making? |

I'm hoping I can work out a trade with a tree service in giving them a couple they want to take the ones I don't. |

definitely worth looking into. I once got a few hundred for an old Black Walnut tree....it's probably now a few rifle stocks...

call MSU and get ahold of the county Agric. Ext. Agent office - they can ID the tree; tell you how to treat it if sick; what the wood is good for etc.

I'm sure that as soon as they get some poor sap on the phone, they will want to turn over a new leaf.

I tried calling the local agricultural office and after being passed around from desk to desk I realized I was barking up the wrong tree.

You guys are a buncha saps!
