Two gigs I'm playing that might be of interest to those in SoCal.

Friday 8Aug - Trio jazz (keyboard, bass, drums) from 7-10pm outdoors in Encino at The Whisper Cafe.

Yes, it is in a strip mall on Ventura Bl, but we set up outside on a patio and it actually is a pretty mellow/cool vibe. Order some food or a pastry. No cover. Mostly straight ahead and latin jazz, some more towards the modal/fusion side of things.

Saturday 9Aug - Quintet jazz/soul/whatever with a *very* good female vocalist (who sadly is leaving for NY later this month).

This will be a VERY fun gig, as it is at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, celebrating their 50th anniversary. For those who don't know the venue, almost everyone has played there including a ton of 60's and 70's rock acts. We'll be playing from 6-8pm, then afterwards they are showing "Endless Summer" on an outdoor screen. No cover.
