Newbie here....Greetings!

Dear Pelicanparts posters!

I am a newbie here and I thought I needed to introduce myself.

My real name is Paul and I was shown this forum by member RCecale so you know whom to blame for my joining. I found it to be a wealth of mirth, sarcasm, depth of appreciation for pretty women, and lots of cool cars and funky attitudes. I finally have broken down to become a member to share my thoughts among the interesting folks here.

I live in Atlanta with my wife, 3 dogs and 2 cats. I really like to take my boat out and go fishing, I am a rabid Philadelphia Flyers hockey fan and the current project in my life is restoring my 1971 Opel GT.

My 71' is my car for life. Right now it is in the last stages of the interior being completed. It has an engine from a 1988 Ford Thunderbird complete with upgraded turbocharger, front mounted intercooler, upgraded suspension and new 17 rims and wheels. I saw one when I was in Mexico Beach Florida and instantly fell in love with the car. A little research later and I put the purchase on one and commenced to rebuilding.

Ah yes, I also play bass guitar. For those that would like to know if I am a hack or can actually play, you can go to http:\\www.myspace.com\speechlesstheband Our band SPEECHLESS is an instrumental progressive rock band that basically kicks ass. I love playing bass and play my bass my way and if you don't like it that is OK too. Until you pay me (handsomely) nobody gets to tell me how I to play.

That's about it for me. I'll tell you what I think honestly, I'll jump in on humor and submit the pics I find and as soon as my Opel GT is done in about a month I'll be submitting pictures for your approval or ridicule.

Nice to meet everyone!!!

Paulie

welcome aboard paul. hope you enjoy the place.

Welcome Paul ! Don't let some of the scrappy banter turn you away, everyone is nice here. I've always liked the 'lines" of the Opel post pics when you have a chance.

craigster59 08-06-2008 05:08 PM

Wait a minute ! The Flyers?? What, are you nuts?? That's it, I'm outta here...

You don't have to finish the car to show pics - most of us have 'not quite finished' cars in our garages right now!

I've been trying to finish buffing my car for the last month.

Paulie,
Welcome aboard! We won't hold it against you that you know Randy Cecale! Post some pics and hold on...

targa911S 08-06-2008 06:10 PM

Howdy Paul! Welcome to the band.

holtjv 08-06-2008 06:28 PM

I was going to ask for pix now, too.

Hope your planning on joining Randy (he better be going too) when he goes to the Porsches on the Dragon event in Nov. I will be there in a non-Porsche and others will too and you are more than welcome.

This Porsche crowd lacks in the prick factor. :D

I was instantly in love with a early 70's Opel GT that a pilot drove at the airport I was a lineman at when I was a teen. Great car, super project, I cannot wait to see pics of this car. Better yet I hope to see it in person.

Pics of wife or girlfriend or both?
Oh. Guns.
Guns too.

red-beard 08-06-2008 07:17 PM

Yes, show pictures of guns!

rouxroux 08-06-2008 07:42 PM

If Randy says your OK, that's good enough for me. Even if you didn't list that you own a pcar.
