So Ive got a great price on my Don Julio but...... shipping question

don't know if any of you saw my previous post but I was moaning about how pricy Don JULIO 1942 was over here compared to the US. Well thanks to you guys I now own a real cheap bottle of 1942 and have a new mate in the bay area that I owe a favour for agreeing to forward it to me!

but there is a new problem... it looks like the big name shipping firms won't ship liquor internationally, other than DHL who want $120!

One of them (fedex i think) will send wine so i thought of perhaps getting my friend to put it in a wine bottle with a screw cap.

My question is has anyone just shipped liquor and called it wine or even just shipped it and called it something else?

Had an employee try to ship a baggie of dry "plants". Did not go well.

I'd stick it in a padded box and ship it. Whad'ya got to lose.

Your real problem may be Royal Mail on your end.

yeah, since posting Ive found a site thats talks about how people send and recieve booze and pretty much everyone is sending items via usps, ups, fedex etc but just putting 'oilve oil' or 'glassware' on the box. seems like they are having a good success rate so maybe ill just go this route
