Today is a good day

32 yrs old, just finished my BSBA in 3 years. I am in the first one in my immediate family (1 brother and sister) to get a college degree. This was a pretty big personal goal of mine. Still have a few more items on my list to check off, all in due time. Having a big party at the house this weekend. Beers on me!!

Bill,
Congratulations! It took me 11 years to get my Bachelor of Science degree, but I was in the Navy at the time. I was 30 when I got my degree. Good job!

Good for you. My brother was about that age when he got his.

Congrats! I finished my aerospace engineering degree in May, 28 years old. Also the first in my immediate family to graduate from college. Without going through it, nobody can ever understand how difficult it is to be a full-time student, work 40 hrs/week, and still have time for your wife and kids. Sure wish I'd done it 10 years ago, but I was too busy drinking beer.:D

Graduating is pretty sureal, it took me some time to adjust. "School mode" gets pretty ingrained, it's not easy to turn off those habits.

Bill,

I'm always impressed when people do this...it takes quite a bit of sacrifice and drive.
Well done (you, too Matt!)

Wife already has the "Honey Do" list as I now have all this "free time"

My wife had to finally sit me down and lecture me to mellow out. I was so used to going non-stop from 6 AM to 10 PM every day, with my newfound free-time I was driving everyone crazy. If I wasn't working I felt like I was procrastinating. It took a serious effort on my part to relax and enjoy life again.

Nice job - congrats!

My congratulations. Rod Steiger had a prophetic line in his final movie. A line I'll always remember: "Every day is a good day. Just try missing one once."
