Thanks
Thanks to the BBS for the heads up about Tacoma frames. I may or may not have found this out without the info I found here. Having my truck inspected netted me thousands more than I paid for my Toyota. I owned and worked it for 3 years; it was my daily driver, moved me 2x's, hauled building material, firewood and coal to heat my house in the winter, and pulled stumps. Although it owed me nothing, posters here at Pelican Parts made sure I got 150% of its value in excellent condition, money that was particularly helpful at this time. Again, thanks.

I have thought about buying a couple of theses truck and then getting them inspected.
I tell everybody I know who has a Tacoma about the recall. Hardly anybody knows of it. Speedy:) |
After getting my bought back I told a relative and a family friend. The relative was very thankful for the tip as they wanted a minivan as they just had their first baby and are just getting started in life.
The family friend had recently bought his and last I heard, Toyota was checking him out real good as he had bought his not too long ago and it does not sound like they will be too tolerant of people abusing the deal by buying up a bunch of beat up Tacoma work trucks to cash in on the deal. Our friend honestly did not know about the buy back and I am fairly confident that he will be OK. PS: I love the truck I bought as a replacement.... a 2002 Tundra Limited 4X4 V8! |
I had heard you have to have owned the truck prior to March '08.
