UPS - Uninterrupted Power Supply Question

Does there exist a UPS that does not BEEP every time there is a power interruption.

I have one on the computer, one on the Tivo and Direct TV box and in Florida we get a lot of power outages, especially in the summer and during storms. The 2 UPS' beeping at 3 in the morning is not needed.

So does one exist?

The more professional models have an alarm you can switch on/off.

Start w/APC. Be prepared to pay...

On the other hand...if you're handy with a soldering iron, you can probably remove the beeper from your current UPS.

You need the speaker to tell you the power is out. (Not that the complete darkness and absence or electical power would notify you). And yes, it is annoying.

He'll know the power is out (e.g. complete darkness, absence of electrical power, etc.). Most likely he has the UPS' to allow him time to shut down the computer and save settings on the TIVO (assuming the power outage is brief).

I have one that keeps my living room light on. I had one that powered my T.V. (no more t.v. watching for me) and other peripherals (CD/DVD/Stereo).

I have them at home to fill the 1 minute gap between grid power and my generator power.
