CorvetteForum has an OT and a Politics/Religion forum. Keeps the whacko's isolated...

+1 zillion, but I think this has been brought up before and Wayne torpedoed it.

I'd like to see the political stuff isolated, it irritates me that almost every thread turns into a "liberal versus conservative" urinating contest.

May make OT more friendly if the politico's had a room to spar.

Yeah, that's going to work really good, everything will end up there. Why not just sift through the BS and get on with life.

Why not? Because OT used to be a cool place with lots of interesting discussion but the ostriches took it over.

Wow, that looks awesome. See that one on the regular OT about HOAs and campaign signs? That's a perfect example. How long do you think that thread would last here without become a mud-sling-fest? 5 posts? 10 maybe?

That's what life is all about to some, avoiding controversy. I don't think so. Get that and then what's next, random booby threads. For what's it's worth, I'm fine the way things are now but it's not my sandbox.

I voted no on a split and I am guessing that the majority of the right wingers here feel the same. I tired of the Bush bashing at times, but OTOH, I like to occasionaly listen to how the other side views it... won't ever change my mind... but still interesting to try to understand how the liberal mind functions (or in some cases does not function

So, you think if there was a political forum, the Dem/libs wouldn't follow all the crazy Righties over there?

I think it is a good idea.
The only problem is...what and who and under what set of rules are you going to compose it? -I run a business on the side buying properties and then renovating them and making them either condominums or rental properties. We do all our work in Broward county, Florida, specifically the east side. -Under the best set of rules, we can sell our condo's TOMORROW~ N |

i dont understand why anybody feels the need to open a political thread if you know its going to get your blood pressure boiling. cant you just ignore them? i read some of em. most of them get me boiling, but i actually learn a thing or two from some of the posts, even if i dont agree with them, so i read em when im bored. most of the time, i just ignore them
aint nobody forcing me or anyone else to open them assuming of course that the title makes it obvious that its political and im a leftwing wacko btw . voted no

I think if there were a separate political forum, you'd have an OT that was a bit more friendly, no matter what your politics were, I may get along with Mule in OT, and wouldn't have known he was only a political troll. Also, there would be much more "content" in OT so it wouldn't look like a bunch of spammers.
