stevie winwood/tom petty FRONT ROW!

well snagged these back in feb. g/friends b-day present. literally hung by puter like a vulture until annointed second when tickets went on sale and NAILED BUY 'EM in about a pico-second. these were not cheap so it better be good.

i was/am/now a traffic freak since freshman year high school.

interesting traffic trivia.............jim capaldi(drummer r.i.p.) wrote the hit fm airplay song for the eagles, sung by timothy(not timmy) b. schmidt .........'love will keep us alive". also joe walsh used to play with winwood on occasion.

latest pics of winwood tour show clapton and robert cray(who we saw last year) playing with him as late as late july 2008. to have clapton and cray join stevie would be to say the least...............well spent bucks.

anyone see petty/winwood on this tour together? any feedback?

My wife and I flew to NY to see them at Dairen Lakes for our 10th anniv. I have seen every Petty tour since Full Moon Fever and we were going to miss the Denver shows because of vacation.

Winwood was awesome. He played a couple of new songs, and a couple of classics. The "Dear Mr. Fantasy" was steller. I was hoping for the wieght, but no luck. Petty didn't come out for any of Winwood's songs though, like he has at some of the shows.

Petty was really good as well. Basically a greatest hits concert, with a couple of newer tunes thrown in. Not very much from last dj though...

It rained pretty bad, and the power went out twice, listening to Tom talk was humorous.

Low sparks!

i saw them both at a festival about a month ago. Winwood played in the afternoon and it was about 100 degrees and his set was kinda snoozy. It was good, but somehow boring.

Petty played at night when it had cooled off. Had a great light show, with a LED curtain. Every song was a hit, and it was pretty great. Petty sings flat a lot of the time, but it doesn't even matter.

AND, Winwood came out and played to of his songs with Petty's band and Petty took a break. THAT was really really good.

geez you lucky dog!

what i'd give to be on the lawn at Merriwether w/ a bottle of wine listening to Dear Mr. Fantasy. Low spark of whatever the heck that tune is would be a very close second.
