Recommend a free WYSIWYG html editor?
If forced at gun point I can tag HTML just fine. But I am a lazy sod, and sometimes I want to quickly edit a family members page, or slap something together. There are a bunch of freeware HTML editors out there, and yes, I have googled and read the reviews, but I'm curious if anyone actually uses one on a regular basis.
I have Frontpage, but we all know the score. The html it write is bloated, microsoft centric and at times bizarrely non compliant. No, I don't want to buy dreamweaver (or whatever its called these days). |

It is what used to be Netscape Composer many moons ago. Lots of stuff in Linux land as well. Edit - I do all my coding by hand in a text editor with syntax highlighting, but then I have designers that do all the pretty parts and create the stylesheets, etc. so I'm really mostly working with PHP and spitting out code that they've created in Dreamweaver. If you just have a short term need, you can still get a 30 day trial of DW. |

I used pagebreeze, had lots of problems with it. The biggest problem that I had was its tendency to suddenly erase/lose all of your work. Even though I was saving every 15 minutes, it still managed to make a half days of work disappear.

WebEasy 7; $30 from Target. Built my site from it in an afternoon (haven't updated it since January, but that's just because I'm too busy working on the car to worry about its site). It has a "PowerPoint" feel to it and has many site options pre-crafted in drop-down menu convenience. Dang. Now I sound like Billy &%$ Mays.
