GENERATORS - Chinese ??

Who has an emergency generator, made in China?

Prices sure are attractive, they seem decently made, and the Chinese engine I have on the minibike has been great - same 6.5 hp Honda copy engine as on many of the generators -

Experiences?

You mean you found something that WASN'T made in China?!

It says 16 kw on the label but it is really a 10 kw.

Mine is a 7000 W...I like it...No problems yet. Supported in USA.

I have a Coleman from 1991 - NOISY sucker, 1500 watts, pretty weak. Made in the US ;-) but it sin't enough............

Everyone knows that Chinese electrons are in every way inferior to American electrons.

:)

FWIW I have a Subaru and it's great. I have a hard time trusting the "throwaway" Chinese generators mostly because I don't trust the metallurgy. I'm sure the windings and such are probably okay, but I'd be worried about the thing falling apart over time due to crappy castings or alloy control.

Pretty much what I was thinking too.
'What is the brand of the entire unit and where did you get it?

Coscto had some Subaru engined generators last year if I recall correctly -

honda or yamaha. in an emergency, you do want the best. i think a silent model would be best. you dont want to attract the zombies (or looters) to your good fortune. stealth. i figure 90% of the population is unprepared. they will just raid the forward thinkers, when the meteor hits.

Agreed.

But that's also what a good supply of ammunition is for. And I'm a pretty decent shot.

dummies...

what you need is a geRerator

you want to have a surplus of energy

not convert expensive fuel in electricity. the fuel is for things that go fast, like your Porsche
