Another Math help question?
Ok my semester is almost over, but I am in need of some assistance.
Describe in words the graph of each of these curves below. Include in your description the shape, along with other possible relevant information such as length, width, and center points. a. Y = 3X2 b. (X-1)2 + (Y-8)2 = 16 c. (X+2)2 + (Y-4)2 = 36 d. Y = X2 - X ???? |

d. y=x^2 - x =x(x-1) is a parabola, concave upward, with y-intercept (0,0) and x-intercepts (0,0) and (1,0) The vertex or bottom of the curve is at (1/2, -1/4). The axis of symmetry is x=1/2 google is easier than doing math. |
Y = 3X2 is what is posted on the online class.

Confused. Plot for Y=6X or Y=6 times x plus 2?
Standard form nowadays is not the same as standard form was when I was a kid, chisling my homework on a rock. |
my guess is Y=6 times x plus 2...this class will not end soon enough. Thanks for the help though.

What are they asking here? For some reason this math stuff just confuses me beyond belief.

If you need more help, then I would suggest going to the library and looking at some algebra books for more problems. If you can understand how to do these problems, then go there and solve a new set of problems. That will help solidify the steps needed to solve these problems. If you still don't understand the steps to solve these problems, then get into engineering. You will know how to do these problems in your sleep once you graduate.;)

I am wondering why you need to take this classwork when it is not so fun for you? What grade are you in? Maybe you have changes schools and missed an important prexquisite class that you should ask your teacher or consuler about. These are very importnat concepts that you should have a firm grip on before going to college. Are your SAT scores ok? --s |
