Gratuitous Guitar Picture Thread
A couple of months ago Rick Lee asked me if I had any pictures of my entire guitar collection. Well, I still don't, but I've taken a few good pictures in the last week or so and I figured Id post them here.
1966 Gibson ES-345 ![]() ![]() 1967 Gibson ES-345. This is the best guitar I've ever owned. ![]() ![]() 1976 Gibson Explorer LE. Best ebay guitar score ever. ![]() ![]() Few things on this planet are cooler than custom color strats and almost nothing is cooler than a Fiesta Red strat. Here's a black alder/maple strat and a recent custom shop Fender that I just cant sell: ![]() Heres a 6lb 0 oz twang monster. Blonde Ash body Rosewood slab board tele ('60 replica). ![]() And my Blackguard tele replica ('52 replica). This is just an amazing guitar. I've heard this guitar hang with a real '52. ![]()

Gibson Les Paul Standard Replica. Total fraud of a $400k 1959 'Burst. Its a handmade guitar with pickups from our own Wolfe Macleod. Easily the best Les Paul standard I've ever played. It kills every Historic Gibson reissue I've played or owned and it holds its own next to the few real '50s guitars I've played.
![]() ![]() 1967 Gibson ES-355 Factory Mono. Another eBay jem. This is a pretty rare guitar. Its a solid and unbroken guitar that someone raped for parts and then dumped on ebay with a bunch of junk replacement parts. ![]()

Amazing collection Sherman! One day I need to learn to play one of those things. For now I will stick to the woodwinds.

I play primarily acoustic, but have a few electrics. A '52 Tele replica (they are great guitars) a Gretsch "Country Gentleman" and a Schecter Classic (won in a raffle, turned out to be a great guitar). Here's the only guitar pics on my computer, a Martin J-40 and a Stonebridge version of a D-28 Marquis. I also have a Gibson Dobro, Stonebridge CR-24, a Gibson "00" Blues King, a Rick Turner Compass Rose Uke, 2 Kamaka soprano ukes, a koa Appilachian dulcimer, a Furch acoustic 6 string and a Guild 12 string. I hope the Wife doesn't see this, she thinks I only own 3 guitars

I've been looking for one of these the past couple of years, but they're getting tough to find. A Harmony "Buck Owens"..

I need to photograph each of my axes for this thread and insurance reasons. I have an ES-335 with the sweetest red quilted finish you'll ever see. Photos don't do it justice. Ditto for my Ernie Ball EVH model and '62 reissue Les Paul.

What a fabulous collection!
I have mostly played Strats in different bands and settings. A lot of acoustic too. I am slowly collecting enough reasons with you guys to defend picking up a plane ticket for a months cross country visit to America. Permission to play your guitars would definitely be well worth such a visit.

I can't post mine because my wife knows I post here. In fact she is on the phone right now watching me post. Between my son and I we have way way to many. Wait, you can't have to many can you? Naw. Livi If you ever make it through here you'll have a place to stay here and a good ride in the 930.

Anyone know the story with this picture? I'm no guitar expert, but I thought it was interesting. I erased the labels.

Cool stuff. Thanks for sharing the pics, everyone. Keep 'em coming.
I fixed the bad pictures in the first posts and added the pics of my 355. Still no group photo, but thats all of them. |

On the left is my 1953 Strat prototype. It was the second Strat prototype leo built , the first had a design flaw and was scrapped. The prototype was given to my father in 54 by a friend that worked at Fender. On the right is my 57 AVRI given to me by The good boys at the Fender custom shop for letting them keep the 53 for a couple of days to do some mearsuring and pictures.
If you know any really high end guitar collectors that would like to make me an offer, send e'm over. Not Steven Segal though, I already talked to him and he's a jerk. Jerry

wow, I am always amazed at musicians who can make their hands do two different things. I was a trumpet player, I could never play two handed piano or guitar. My daughter's boy friend tunes guitars for a living.
As a hobby he made one. I'll get a pic. It was beautiful. |

Anyone know why the pickups on the strats are at different angles? Why are the top two perpendicular to the fretboard while the one near the bridge is at an angle? Is it just aesthetics?
