MAC hd question
 

My sister needs an external HD for a class she's taking.

Can she use one of mine from my PC by simply formatting it, or is there an architectural difference?

You mean you have an external, like firewire or something, from your PC? It will work just fine. You might have to re-format it, might not. And BACKUP! Today I"m going to try to recover my last 4 days of work cause I didn't BACKUP every single night. :(

If you didn't format it as NTFS (you used FAT32) then she can use it without even formatting...

If you did use NTFS, I'd format it as FAT32 and then let her use it. All OSes (except 16 bit DOS) can read and write FAT32.

She can just connect via firewire, or usb and the mac will automatically ask to intiialize and format it.

If NTFS it'll read it. To write reformat
