Not one, but three under-age girls with their birthdates changed by the Chinese govt. on their passports and true info on their ages removed from web sites. What a low-life country. This will be their legacy of the 2008 Olympics. They are so institutionally corrupt that they assumed that the world and the IOC had to obey them as their own people do. Astonishing.

Yes, I think they are "alone to do so". Or at least this type of cheating in an Olympics facilitated by govt. on an official level is pretty rare. Most cultures have too much character (and pride) to do so.

Not sure it's about pride or character, as much as what you can get a way with. In a society like China the government is used to getting away with just about everything. There are no checks and balances.

How did the U.S. govt. help Marion Jones cheat, Syl? That's what we're talking about here. It would have to include a big cover-up, at high levels. Please tell us.

I'm not talking about individual athletes trying to get an edge by cheating. (Doping). Are you rationalising what China did?
