Nu Finish anyone?

Anyone ever use Nu Finish car polish? I am looking for a product I can use on my non-Porsche vehicles that will give a good result in a single application. I use my buffer to "spot fix" areas as needed and I'm tired of doing the clean, polish, wax routine.

I used it on my 1999 Suburban (it's in great shape) and I really like the easy application and the finish is like a mirror.

Any pros/cons?

I've heard it is fairly abrasive. I also used it on one of my older cars. Nice hard shine, but then again i wasn't overly concerned with the longevity of the paint.

I have some along with my normal Zymol. I think the Nu-finish works better at removing the oxidization from the red paint but I bet because it is more aggressive. I only hand apply the stuff.

I keep some of that around for cleaning things other than the car. It's a good cleaner wax.

Thanks guys. Yes, it does give a good hard finish but I was not aware that it is more aggressive.

I apply via hand as well.

Not correct. That's the whole point with Nu-finish - it's not a wax.

Pretty aggressive polish, though.

If your car is going to a body shop, make sure you tell them it's got Nu-finish on the paint.

stuff is a nightmare to get off of non painted surfaces and gets stuck in cracks easily. There are some reports of hazing with longterm use - not surprising the amounts of distillates and abarasives in the stuff.

For the same money I'd use Meguiars one step or 3m. NuFinish only real advantage is price. It isn't as durable as they claim.

Firstly, let me say WAR D&%$# EAGLE to curlesw . . . secondly, Meguiar's Machine Glaze has always worked for me with a buffer but for hand applications I go with Zymol.

Yeah, I kind of wondered about that. It's not correct, but I call anything that makes the car shiny and causes water to bead up wax.

It's good for removing stains from things though - seriously, I used it on appliances in the kitchen and they came out looking great.

I used it once. Then I tried my usual Meguires. What a freakin' mess! Once you put this crap on anything, that's about all you can use again, ever. That is unless you want to go through this incredible stripping process I was forced to do.

A friend of mine used it on an XJR, and it seems to have nearly worn through the paint on the trunk.
