Radio Control motorcycle jumps 911 targa

Hello everyone.

I was debating for a while about posting this link to two of my video's. I want to make it perfectly clear that at no time did I think my car was in danger. We did many practice jumps before we jumped the car. I have been into RC for over 25 years and these bikes have been the most fun, land, sea or air.

Enjoy!

bfn dave...

PS: Go easy on me!

Wife says I have too much time on my hands......maybe so! LOLOLOL

She's right. You should probably go out and get a girlfriend.

Cool vids, though...

Ricky is a heck of a rider. Is he factory-sponsored?

Ricky's next jump

Thanks everyone for the comments.

My car is running so nice thanks to pelican that I needed something else to work on. If you look on "RC groups" site there is quite a following for RC motorcycle's. This bike was manufactured by Radio shack back in 2003 when Ricky Carmichael was at his peak. He drives stock cars now and has retired from motocross.

As far as what is next for RC Ricky. I am working on another one that has a hot rod motor and 8 cells. Should be good for about 40 MPH and my plan it to jump him 60'. I am just looking for a few people dumb.......er, nice enough to lend me their cars. The plan is to line up 6 or 7 cars side by side. Just like good old Evil Kenevil. I think the wife is right (for once) I have too much time on my hands.LOLOLOL!!!

bfn dave...

PS: Wife says I can get a girlfriend. She is packing my bags as we speak! LOLOL

Pretty funny! I too am a closet RC toy guy (gas and electric planes, cheap helis, gas cars etc). Years ago on our "full scale" MX bikes we used to jump over a Toyota truck and my 240Z.... I was always worried someone would miss a gear and endo into our cars.

D@mn I am getting old.... I remember racing at the AMA amateur nationals in Tennessee and watching Ricky race when he barely was big enough to fit on a KX 60..... Now he is retired.

Hi Tim

My son and I both ride full scale bikes. He has a Honda 50 and a china 4 wheeler. I ride a 200xr with lots of motor work. HEHEHE!! I am getting old too.....but I don't let it stop me. It just takes a little longer to heal.

Here is a shot of my son and I with the collection of Rickys. I fly planes and have 1/10 scale buggies too. Ben likes the Rickys so they get the most use. Quality father and son time!

He keeps telling me that he can't wait untill he turns 16 so he can drive my porsche........Keep dreaming Ben.

Hi Sand Man

That's all I have for Ricky vids but there are 2 other vids on youtube of mine. A tubing video and a rollercoaster from Darien Lake. Just click on "davcat00" on the right hand side of the Ricky vid. That will bring up the other vids.

Hope to get the 60' Ricky jump done this fall. I have the gyro out of the rear wheel at the machine shop getting lightened and ballance. It's a buddy doing me a favour so the turn around time is a little slow. LOL!!

Old RC-10L, unlimited motor, 7 cell battery pack, high gearing, about 56 mph as near as we can clock it. Hard to control because if I set the limited differential tight it just spins the tires all the way up to top speed, if I set the diff loose it smokes. Yep, I'm a closet geek too.

You are the coolest. Your son is a lucky young man. Pic of me and my now 16 YO on our recent trip to Bend OR and riding our Honda CR250's. Keep up the good work.

PS my son's name is Ben too and he does drive my 911................

That was so cool. My kids and I really enjoyed it. I admit that I clapped when Ricky made the jump over the Targa!

And, yes, you have too much time on your hands
