Official Parents Pics Thread

As a thank to our parents, why don't we start a Parents pics thread? You could also add their background, profession, your likes and dislikes.

Oh, I am still looking for my parents' pic(s).

This is weird. While I was typing the original thread, you were the first person that crossed my mine.

I remember an old post about you basically separating yourself from them, and now you are happy.

As I was right, I should go out and buy lotto!

Umm...that's Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. I was just pullin' your chain. My parents are really more like this:

My father was basically this guy.

My mother was picked for the Mickey Mouse Club, but my sicilian grandfather wanted nothing to do with hollywood. They picked Annette Funicello instead.

You could say these are my parents.

I have some really cool beehive hairdo photos of my mom, wearing black and white stripes and thigh highs.

Very smart and liberated, imagine that?

OK, here is a pic of my parents 25th Anniversary party in 1978! My brother is on the left and I am on the far right next to my sister. The party was at a nice Italian place in NYC where no one made sudden moves or went into the back room unless you were invited.

Mom was a pretty hip lady with those big cats eyes glasses. Dad was Mr. Conservative. I ate like a horse all the time and was 120 lbs soaking wet!

This is a picture of me with my parents and sister at my wedding (my brother, the best man, is not pictured).

My parents met in high school (they lived in different towns, were introduced by my dad's younger sister who knew my mom through girl scouts) and dated throughout college and were married in 1962, a couple of days after my dad graduated. They have lived in Oahu Hawaii, Pittsburgh PA, Menlo Park CA, Concord MA and now live in Salt Lake City.

Mom: Born in Tower City PA in 1941, undergrad at Gettysburg, grad at U Hawaii, PhD in English Literature from Carnegie Mellon. Career in education (dean of students at a local college for many years), now retired.

Dad: Born Pine Grove PA in 1940, undergrad at the United States Military Academy (West Point) followed by time in SE Asia, PhD in Plasma Physics from Pitt. Career mostly in semiconductors, about to bow out as CEO of an energy company which we hope will mean retirement (he is 68 and works harder than just about anyone I know).

Overall, pretty cool parents... I'm the youngest of three and my parents were 39 and 40 by the time I was born, so they took it easy on me
