The Master showed how it is done!
Love him or hate him, you have to admit he can deliver a speech.
Hillary's speech, IMO, was pretty crappy if you are Barak Obama. I thought her speech was about as weak an endorsement as she could get away with. It was far more about her than him. A C+ speech, from Obama's standpoint, IMO. Bill knocked it out of the park. He addressed all the important issues (Obama is ready for the job, can handle intl affairs, etc.) IMO that was a solid A, if not A+ speech. |
I fully concur. Pretty wonderful
|
Yep, his 10 minute introduction turned into a 30+ minute speech.
I commented to my wife how short his speech was. Then the commentators brought up that it was only supposed to be a 10 minute speech... He does talk purty |
I heard the speech had 32 paragraphs, two of which were on nat. security, which was what he was supposed to talk about.
Like Obama, he says a lot of nothing and says it very well. If you had never been to America before and were dropped into the Pepsi Center to hear his speech, you'd think we were mired in another Great Depression, people starving in the street, homeless everywhere. Just unreal the doom and gloom and false characterizations he gave. Did you catch the line about rising credit card debt? Yeah, that's Bush's fault too. I don't know anyone who's doing worse now than when he was POTUS. And I know I'm paying less in taxes now than I'd have paid, HAD I EARNED AS MUCH THEN as I do now. Thank you Bush, no thanks Bubba. Which alliances are frayed that he thinks Obama would mend? France and Germany both have pro-American heads of state now and the one leader Bush liked the most, Putin, is turning into a real thug. How would Obama change that? Were we friendly with Iran when Clinton was in office and Bush ruined that one too? Which alliances are frayed? I'd love to know that and better yet, how Obama would fix anything short of total appeasment. |
Yep, The Master de-bater
|
Oh great, another liberal circle-jerk about how their heros can "deliver a speech". Why don't you come right out and say it, "they are great liars".
|
Hey Rick, stop that critical thinking. Just accept the America Suck convention theme. ;)

I watched it. He seemed kind of flat almost half hearted during the portion touting BO. He seemed to relish sticking it to the repub. near to the end. His glowing praise for JM seemed to overshadow the counterpoint he offered saying that JM was going to be a bushIII. These conventions (on both sides) have all the credibility of a late night infomercial. "lower taxes, fresher breath, universal healthcare, no on will notice you are wearing it"

Oh well, off to look at NASCAR memorabilia on eBay or screw one of my cousins, or some other activity Soup tells me that I like to engage in. |

Uh...just don't ask for it back... |
It's really too bad he has so many parts of his personality which are deranged and completely irresponsible.
Had he just not wagged his finger at the american people and declared "I never had sexual relations with that woman," not lied under penalty of perjury, not been impeached, not been disbarred, etc. he really could have gone down (pun intended) as a well-respected statesman. He really ruined, or at least seriously damaged, his legacy by reckless and foolish choices. |
I was asleep during the first half of his speech.....but woke up to hear the conclusion. The Bil and Hill speeches are to be considered to be bookends. What one didn't cover the other did.

Yawn. I'm still waiting for someone to explain how a senator with 2 easy years experience suddenly is qualified to run our Country. I personally consider that much more scary than the Republican alternative, but that's just me.
Just remember, many attorneys and car salesmen are good, elequant speakers......everyone knows what we think about attorneys and car salesmen. |
Yup, I think that Bill could have been one of the best Presidents ever by historical standards, if he didn't completely FUDGE it up big time. I would rather have Bill over Hillary or Obama...

I can't help but think, "Used car salesman who passed the bar" whenever I see Mr Clinton speak; Mr Edwards too, but he is apparently persona non grata since he had a love child. |
