The Media becoming disgusted with itself

In the last few days, I have heard of several instances of guys who I consider to be pretty non-biased calling to task their colleagues on the air, for example, Joe Scarborough, I believe on MSNBC.

Is their going to be a backlash against the fawning, biased coverage that seems so prevalent of late in the media?

Those guys are talk show hosts, not journalists.

Tobra 08-27-2008 10:18 PM

I can't think of too many I would use the term "journalists" for, I said media

legion 08-28-2008 04:59 AM

A self-loathing media?

Is there any more proof needed of a liberal bias? ;)

i've been watching MSNBC lately. i swear they have to pour kitty litter down keith oblerman's pants to contain the fluids he emits after every speech.

even the other anchors are starting to look embarrassed.

Olberman is becoming a caricature. He is the yin to Bill O'Reilly's yang...the difference is Fox doesn't try to hold up O'Reilly as an anchorman...

onewhippedpuppy 08-28-2008 07:05 AM

At least Fox markets it as commentary. Some of the blatantly biased crap that comes from the mouth of other network anchors is incredible.

Could this have something to do with it?

The worst of it will be if Obama loses - and I think he will - with all of the positive press Obama has gotten, the conspiracy theorists will go nuts (How could he lose - we know he was winning - must be the Republican owned Diebold machines)!

Remember - 12% of Americans believe Elvis is still alive.

Ah, but he's not winning. If someone as well-spoken and well-funded as Obama, with the media totally in his pocket, running against a cranky old white guy (who is not at all loved in his own party) can't even get a bounce in the polls the week of his party's convention, well, I think that may be kinda hard to pin on the Republican attack machine.
