Her name is Tracey Burvill (That's Mrs. Hayden Burvill to you).

BTW, most often I find the telephone voice and physical appearance don't match. Not true here. I forget if she is Aussie or a Brit.

I always thought NPR's Terry Gross had a sexy voice. Then I saw a picture of her.

The horror. The horror.

Although there are always exceptions to the rule, my experience has been that the better they sound the worse they're gonna look. YYMV

[I had a response to this that I thought was funny but was a bit disrespectful so I won't post it. . . But it involved phone sex . . . and your wife . . .]

I kinda liked Barbara Felden from get Smart. She had a sexy voice. Eva Gabor in Green Acres too.

Terry Gross from NPR

Mclame's VP pick set off my car alarm this morning.

I'm pleased to hear that I'm not the only one cruelly deceived by Terry Gross.

I used to do telephone support for Cisco Systems. I used to occasionally get a call from an Asian girl in NY. I spoke to her on the phone once, but wouldn't answer or call her any other time after that. I've never been mesmerized by a voice like that before, but listening to her talk, regardless of what she was saying was the same as getting a lobotomy. She sounded so hot that I couldn't remember what she'd said or what I was doing. She didn't have any Asian accent at all, she just sounded totally American and extremely hot.

I'm glad that I have no idea what she looked like.

Before cellphones & voicemail, my buddy had an answering service for his company. If he did not answer, the call would be transferred to the service. This was a start-up he was running out of his house. He only had one number. If we (the drinking buddies) wanted to talk to him, we'd have to call and occasionally would get the service. Another buddy who screwed anything that walked, struck up a conversation with the ans. service chick. He said she sounded hot. They made arrangements to meet. She described what she would be wearing. He rolls up and sees her (@ some coffee shop) and describes her as "huge" (this guy bedded some real sweat hogs, so for him to turn down the opportunity... ). He kept driving and from then on, whenever he called and the service picked-up, he'd hang up. Hilarious to this day.

I had quite a few long phone conversations with my friends' roomate in college--really sexy voice. They finally came to visit and I was shocked. I'm no prize but this chick had snaggly teeth and a weird shaped pupil in one of her eyes. She was also one taco away from needing a yoke.
