Can Rossi do it?

5 rounds left, he leads Stoner by 75 points in the championship. Casey has to win the next three races to no points to Rossi to pull even.

I think the Doctor could be well on his way to an 8th world title (6 in premier).

Yeah, it looked like that left hand had finally had enough. After his slide early on, he couldn't even pick the bike back up. If he were able to re-mount, I am sure he would have salvaged some points to remain competitive.

It was over at Laguna. Stoner never buckled to pressure from Rossi last year, just stayed mistake free and put his head down. Rossi found a way to crack Stoner - it may have been the pass in the dirt on the corkscrew that really set the tone for the balance of the season. Too bad as Stoner's times all weekend at Laguna, Brno and Misano were at the top of the sheets. He claimed he didn't have the grip from the start and he made a mistake with a 3 sec lead. With 22 laps to go he could have managed the race better. I was really looking forward to a better battle down the stretch.... and hoping Casey would come back to repeat. There's always '09, I just hope he stays ahead of Pedrosa, just don't like that kid.

I was fortunate enough to run into Casey last year (07) in the paddock at Laguna as he was arriving at the track Sat morning for practice. Seemed like a genuinely nice and down to earth guy. Talked for a couple minutes without feeling like he was rushing off. He even had his wife take our photo so my wife could also get in the pic. Top notch in my opinion.
