no RNC xmas card for you...
ouch
http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2008/09/03/republican-insiders-caught-by-hot-mic-race-is-over/ Chuck Todd: Mike Murphy, lots of free advice, we’ll see if Steve Schmidt and the boys were watching. We’ll find out on your blackberry. Tonight voters will get their chance to hear from Sarah Palin and she will get the chance to show voters she’s the right woman for the job Up next, one man who’s already convinced and he’ll us why Gov. Jon Huntsman. (cut away) Peggy Noonan: Yeah. Mike Murphy: You know, because I come out of the blue swing state governor world: Engler, Whitman, Tommy Thompson, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush. I mean, these guys — this is how you win a Texas race, just run it up. And it’s not gonna work. And – PN: It’s over. MM: Still McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech to do himself some good. CT: I also think the Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson, too. PN: Saw Kay this morning. CT: Yeah, she’s never looked comfortable about this – MM: They’re all bummed out. CT: Yeah, I mean is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to? PN: The most qualified? No! I think they went for this — excuse me– political bull**** about narratives – CT: Yeah they went to a narrative. MM: I totally agree. PN: Every time the Republicans do that, because that’s not where they live and it’s not what they’re good at, they blow it. MM: You know what’s really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical. CT: This is cynical, and as you called it, gimmicky. MM: Yeah. |

I would venture to say these folks are out of touch with a huge groundswell happening under their feet.

what's funny to me is that they are evidently Republican pundits/strategists. I don't really follow it so I don't know. I just think that the "open mic syndrome" is pretty funny, as is the incredible rate of travel for this kind of nonsense.
And yes, Demo pundits saying the equivalent would be just as funny to me. I'm tired of the whole process and think they both (BO and JM) are pretty much morons. But the biggest idiots are the pundits, followed by the media who elevates them, followed by those who read this stuff and think it is anything beyond comedy. Present company excepted, of course ![]() |

You won't catch NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, CNN, of MSNBC leaking the off-air banter of their political commentators...

Well, there was the one time (at band camp), where CNN anchor Kyra Phillips left her mic on as she went into the ladies room, ala Lt. Frank Drebbin in the Naked Gun. She was recorded talking not nicely about her sister-in-law. I forget who leaked it, but it probably made for a few awkward family gatherings at the Phillips house.

What ever you do, don't try and reference the source of the quote.

So you really want to get into a discussion about politicians back pedaling?! Especially being an OB supporter?!
I mean where to start with that guy? Steve

Yes Todd, CSM is a liberal rag
Peggy Noonan is a very sharp lady who I am fairly certain could give a rat's ass if she got a card from the RNC

if Peggy Noonan had been McCain's VP choice, I would consider voting for a McCain/Noonan ticket.
That woman rocks. She was the primary speech writer and Special Assistant to Reagan.
