Insurance adjuster coming: Need to know what to expect
I had a deer jump out in front of me this morning. I smacked it dead-on while it was in mid-air right in front of my 951. On the surface, it doesn't look too bad. But, I haven't had the opportunity to look at it closely yet. I haven't even tried to open the hood.
Before I left the scene, I called the local police and they came a wrote it up. I just wanted to make sure that they came to the scene and documented that there was a dead deer at the side of the road next to debris from my car. Then, I called my insurance company, Traveler's, and submitted a claim. A little while later, I got a call from their adjuster and they are going to be at my house tomorrow morning. I was very uneasy regarding their "willingness" to settle this quickly. I'm guessing that their offer of settlement is not going to be what I would expect. Can someone provide insight on how they play this game? ![]() |

I just take my cars to the shop where I want it fixed and tell the insurance company to work with them.

It looks fixable from here. Get a couple quotes and get it fixed. Should only cost you your deductible. Unless the Bambi family decides to sue.

Very easy fix. Matching the paint will be the hardest part. Most likely less than $2k. Most insurance companies try to settle this quickly. We deal with several companies that come out in a day or two and write a check on the spot.
