Is it like crossing the streams in Ghostbusters? Or going back in time and meeting yourself?

It's more like going back in time and killing yourself and everyone else.

It's bad.

What about jumping friggin sharks with friggin lasers on their heads?

This thread has jumped the shark.

A couple of years ago, my now-13 year old son got hooked on after school Happy Days reruns. I thought it was OK until one day I went to pick him up just as an episode was ending. Junior begged to see the ending because it was going to be so exciting. I asked what was happening. Fonzie was going to jump the shark. I told him no way was he going to watch Fonzie jump the shark and I was going to speak to his grandmother about letting him watch so much TV.

You prevented you son from watching Fonzie jump the shark?

Be prepared for YEARS of therapy!

What was so funny was that he was so earnest and sincere in his belief that he needed to see that ending. The whole episode focused around the one dumb stunt, so he thought he was waiting for something important. He had no idea he was asking to watch the iconic lame stunt of all TV history. I decided he could wait until college to lie around in the afternoon and finally see the episode when he was old enough to appreciate it.

Batman tried to jump the shark, and almost failed.

Can dolphins jump higher than sharks? Where do Orcas factor into all this? Won't someone please think of the dolphins?

What if the shark had eaten Fonzie? Would we even be here today?

Oh god, I saw that one. Batman declared "luckily, I have my anti-shark spray". And miraculously, his belt had like 3 cans of the stuff. It made me really angry.
