Thats funny Mike. I thought the track went right over mine. We are in the western Harris county. I-10/hwy 6 area. Where are you? Red Beard is out this way, he has lots of ammo.

I'm at the Beltway and Richmond Ave, roughly the Beltway and Westpark.

At least you're not out on the Bolivar!

bivenator 09-10-2008 10:07 PM

Do they have mandatory evac. for you yet? If not, I would still get the heck outta dodge.

JeremyD 09-11-2008 03:57 AM

You guys be safe - and get out of dodge - we had high tides again this morning

onewhippedpuppy 09-11-2008 04:34 AM

Good luck guys. Looks like even KS will get some serious rain out of Ike. I'm preparing to evacuate now.:p

BRPORSCHE 09-11-2008 05:05 AM

Just woke up...got a text from my frieds saying we were under mandatory evacuation for my zipcode. Jeremy used to live right next to me so he knows this area well. I don't when I am going to leave though...

Mule 09-11-2008 05:23 AM

Stay safe dude. Evacuation looks like the easy pick where you are.

TerryBPP 09-11-2008 05:25 AM

Leave now and beat the insane traffic that will ensue. Be safe guys.

Better to leave earlier than later - and the worst place to be is on the right side of the storm.

On my way to work this morning - so if it [IKE] can cause high tides here like this - you really need to be careful of storm surge where you are BRPorsche... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1221140288.jpg

Edited out of a desire to avoid being a part of the petty bickering I see in OT these days.

High tides here as well 4 ft over normal and just happens to be high tide now. Getting windy and looking to just be a real crappy day here.
You guys in Houston should have already been gone. Porsches don't float.

BRPORSCHE 09-11-2008 07:41 AM

I am about to head to my house. Will take some pics of the water behind my casa. The dock by my house should be under water.

With Katrina the wave heights were close to 90 feet.

Congratulations, Jellisky, on your student endeavors. The problem in your post is that you are applying the wrong standards of proof for policy formulation.

In fact, ALL proposed fixes for climate change also make sense to reduce conventional pollutants, provide more efficient and lower cost transport and heating or cooling bills for consumers AND to reduce our reliance on energy sources from swaggering dictators who don't like us very much. That of course, is beyond the bias in the standards involved.

You have also completely misrepresented my position, but that is another matter.
