Less than a month after I picked up the AR 15, I'm thinking Armalit AR 50. Cabela's had one complete with a scope for $2,500. I can't find a better price, ANYWHERE. I was thinking a Barrett 95, but that is probably overkill (and too much money) for me.

I'll have to wait awhile anyways. My safe won't fit a rifle that long, and I don't have room for a new gun safe in my current house...

Get a Barrett. You know you want to.

I think that ammo runs $4-$5 PER ROUND. I couldn't afford to shoot that rifle if I got it for free.

If I had the money, I might. But 50BMG is not on the list at the moment. I still need a .308/7.62x51 rifle...

I just saw one for the first time at a sporting goods store yesterday.....They had it leaning against the wall behind the counter and as I walked by, it took me a second to realize what the hell it was......a BFG! Next time I'm in (maybe today) I see how much they want for it.

Oh, they're a bargain starting at $6k.

Here's one I got to check out at Robar. I think they were making these for the Singapore SWAT folks. They were $7k each.

Last year I coulda bought a Barrett 82A with hard case and all the goodies unfired for $6500.00 out de door. I passed, not they are in excess of 10K. Do I really care not really. I have enough of the hardware to last several lifetimes.

What used to be cheap guns in the collecting field have become expensive and are now selling at premium auctions. The moderately priced stuff in my day has become very expensive indeed. Try a Remington 03 A4....for $1200.00 and now they are $3500.00

Define "ammo".

That is all the ammo I have that is ready to shoot. My reloading cabinet has bullets, casings, primers, and powder for various calibers. I have on hand enough to crank out quite a bit more.

I want that Serbu BAD! I bet that would do a nice job on the iguanas eating my plants-

I'm leaning towards the Armalite because it has a better muzzle brake.

Yeah, but Serbu offers some nice customization options on their muzzle brake. This one always slayed me.....
