usually is a scam, with the link that says http://www.paypal.com
actually goes to something like http://www.paypal.secure.and.safe.com whatever NEVER EVER open paypal links if you need to log on, manually type the url in your own browser |
I have never received such an email. I think it's bogus.
|
thanks very much. Interesting thing is that the originating email address was www.paypa.com. Usually anything that comes from paypal is from www.service@paypal.com.
I always type in the url. |
That is a BS message. They get sent out periodically to people in hopes of scamming them. If you go to the PayPal website, and click on the security tab, they will ask you to forward the email to them, and then tell you to delete the email from your files
|
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for the future but have already deleted that message. I'm pretty sure it's a scam!
I did go in to the actual PP site and change my password, guess I'm just paranoid! |
Bogus e-mail but real Paypal link?
Perhaps the spammers already have key logging spyware on your PC and are trying to get you to go to the real PayPal site to login??? |
see, that's the mistake many fall for
the link you see and the link that really is in the html mail, can be different try this one.. http://www.paypal.com |
Real emails from PayPal and eBay will always start out with your full name, not 'Dear User, etc...'
Forward any suspicious stuff to spoof@paypal.com they will respond and tell you what the deal is. Cheers, Paul. |
