UnVintage version 2.0...
In the last 3 months my original vision of the car business has skewed. Originally we were going to buy and sell economy cars but the margins are so small it didnt work as a part time gig. So we got into exactly what I wanted to do, sell luxury, exotics, and performance cars. We have made all our sales so far from customers coming to us requesting we find a specific vehicle. To be honest I can't believe this repetitive model is working, but can't complain.
Anyway, I switched up the website to support the new direction and made it all flash :D. www.unvintage.com |
Congratulations on the business!
. . . but, I think you may get an "earful" re the all Flash site. :) Best, |
Nice website. Maybe a bit too flashy, but nice.
Sounds like a cool gig. Basically what I've done for years, except it's all due to car ADD. You hiring?;) |
The site looks nice but is too slow. Plus your inventory doesn't link to any useful information just a picture.
I personally dislike sites with music. Just trying to be helpful. |
|
Another vote against Flash.
|
I tried a couple different links in your site which don't work.
Speedy:) |

Just went online 15 mins ago so I have a bunch of tweaks. It opens in less than 2 secs on my connection. Mine is a little faster than most. The inventory is my next hurdle. I need to find a good format to add info, maybe a pop-up when you click on the pic. Strictly for testing so far. The music, lol. I haven't even heard it, my computer here doesnt have speakers. Whats the song? |

i tried going to the service overviews and clicking on the options...
Want a certain make & model? Love a specific color? looking for specific options? Speedy:) |
Personally, I can't imagine a situation where I would build a Flash site, period.
Things may have changed in the past year or so, but Flash only is a poor choice if "SEO" (search engine optimization) is an issue for you - it should be! :) Half the battle with any site is making your sight "viewable" to as many folks as possible. An all-Flash site fails this critical test. FWIW. Best, |

BTW, my 1st time doing flash. :) |
Building an entire site in Flash is nice for those with "shiny object syndrom" but it is NOT search engine friendly, ie: ain't gonna come up in google searches.
You need to put some food up their to feed the engines. While it may load fine for you it may not for everyone and if it takes too long say sayonara to your visitors. You also have trouble tracking site usage. You should sign up for a googles analytics account which is free. Then you can see where your traffic is coming from, what pages generate views (interest), what search terms/keywords are bringing them to you etc...... EDIT: Kurt beat me to it. |
Personally if I were you I'd look to redo this around a CMS.
You can still use Flash pieces but it will make management and upkeep much simpler. |

What I meant by slow was the actual operation of the site. I click on say: "Services" and I have to wait while some color forms flip and flop around and finally display...to be honest it's annoying, just give me my info already :). My brother did our site in flash the first time too and he put way too many gizmos and other stuff in because it was like a new toy for him. We now have a much cleaner/better site. Oh yea, the music some kind of fusion jazz. |

Flashy is good though with the crowd you are catering to.
