Do you know, the US uses

Do you know the US uses %25 percent of the worlds oil and has %3 of the reserves,

the comercial I hear all the time,

I am not sure about the reserve part but,
Do you know the US is the top producing nation in the world using %25 of the oil.
Do you know California is 7th.
That is a lot of production.

We also produce more than 25% of GDP for the world...

America is solely responsible for the MILF phenomenon as well.

And, yes, I am proud.

That's right. The GDP of the whole world is about $54 trillion/year. The US GDP is about $13 trillion/year.

The next closest country is Japan with about $4 tillion followed by Germany at $3.5 tillion.

It's basically us and then everybody else. No one else is even close.

Another thing. The entire GDP of the Arab League natinons, plus Iran (not an Arab league nation) is $1.7 trillion. The GDP of Italy is also $1.7 trillion.

Nice productivity for 1 billion people.

If that's true, then despite red-beard's claim, we produce LESS than 25% of the world's GDP with 25% of the world's oil usage.

Someone is wrong here.

GDP ranking

65 Tri a year for the world, 13.8 for the US and if you consider the EU as a whole they sit slightly above at 14.4

Oil Production

The US produces of 10% of the oil.

[ur=https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2174rank.html]Oil Consumption[/url]

The US consumes approx 25%, EU not far behind.

Proven reserves

Looks like it's closer to about 1.6%. As expected, Middle east, Venezuela. Canada, and Russia are the bigger holders.

Other facts, US is the 2nd biggest importer behind the EU.

The scarier fact maybe the the Current Account Balance

What do all these numbers mean or imply? I don't really know. I guess it means the US likes to use oil but so does every other country. It would be interesting if someone had a table of oil consumption per capita.

cheers.
