Some updates:

A few times in October/November I was home during the day for various reasons. I would notice cars pull up in front of the house across the street. The goth kid would run out, sit in the car for two minutes, then get out and run back inside. Sometimes there would be another car waiting behind the first car, but a trip inside was always required before sitting in the cars. I haven't seen this since November...

The Bloomington police seem to be parked in front of the house across the street every day or two. Sometimes they ring the doorbell and talk to the dad, sometimes they just sit outside. There is always at least two squad cars. The kid's car (he has a car now) has been gone for a few days, but he's still there.

Sounds to me like he was dealin and the PoPo suspects it.

The former wife and the boy toy moved to Colorado, and a new couple moved in from Colorado. They are in their early 50's and are ideal neighbors. They've been there for a little over a year. I was really enjoying getting along with all of my neighbors...

About six months ago, the guy's son moved in with them. He's 19, about 6'4", with long, dyed, jet black hair. He's the definition of a goth/emo kid. I've never seen him where anything other than complete black. He doesn't go to college, doesn't have a job, and doesn't have a car. About two months ago, a gang-banger looking kid apparently moved in too. I get the impression that they both sleep during the day and party at night--mostly because I am finding empty beer bottles and cigarette packs on my front lawn almost daily. It's not uncommon for me to be woken up by a pounding stereo at 3:00 in the morning on week nights, but they apparently only crank the stereo as they are leaving--by the time I get to the front window I can only see a car turing off the street.

The house has become a hub for goth/emo kids and gangbangers. I often come home from work to find a strange car parked in front of my house with someone sitting in it--sometimes for hours. The same thing tends to happen again around bed time.

Someone broke into my neighbor's pickup truck last week. (This neighbor is a cop.) They stole the change, the CDs, and slashed a seat. I don't know that it is the same kids that hang out across the street, but I'm keeping my eye on them.

At this point, what really annoys me is the beer bottles and empty cigarette packs.

Dude, i will trade you neighbor problems in a heart beat.

I literally almost had to shoot my ho (im sorry there is no more accurate way to describe her) neighbors BF (of the moment) the other day when he came INTO my residence after verbally threatening to "bust yo azz up in yo own crib."

He was 3/4 of the way up my steps, INSIDE my residence.

I convinced him to leave.

Don't start with someone with nothing to lose.

This has not been my experience.

Honestly.

These people do not respect the law. They do understand some things very well though.

It gets stranger today.

The cops finally showed up when the kid was home. They've been there for hours. I can usually see one or both cops standing by the front door presumably talking to the parents.

Well, in the middle of this the kid gets in his car and leaves. I guess the cops weren't to concerned about keeping him around? Or maybe he isn't the reason they keep showing up?

Kid left an hour ago and the cops are still there.

walk out with your AR strapped to your back and do some gardening. That might be fun.

Perhaps his parents are nuts. Perhaps that's the reason why he's an emo drugdealing basket case to begin with.

He wouldn't be the first.

Maybe you should try to get to know the kid just a little. Once you do, he would probably be a lot more amicable to not annoying you with noise and crap like that.

Seriously, give it a shot.

targa911S 05-16-2009 03:36 AM

what are neighbors?

Heel n Toe 05-16-2009 12:40 PM

Maybe your neighbors are in witness protection and a court date is approaching.

On second thought... probably not... or they wouldn't have let their kid exhibit such behavior.

legion 09-01-2009 06:36 AM

It gets weirder.

The neighbors have had a moving truck parked in front of their house between 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. every night. This morning, there was a "for sale" sign stuck in their yards.

Gogar 09-01-2009 06:45 AM

Maybe they're walking on their loan.

More likely sounds to me like they were renting and they're walking on a few months of rent. Hence the "late night" truck.

onewhippedpuppy 09-01-2009 06:49 AM

Sounds like your problem is solved.

legion 09-01-2009 06:52 AM

No, they bought the house. That I know for certain.

URY914 09-01-2009 06:57 AM

Good parents with bad kids. They don't want to throw him out so his drug habit gets worse. It must suck for them.

legion 09-01-2009 07:06 AM

Another weird thing. The kid was trying to start his car a few weekends ago. (The parents had given him the wife's old Honda a few months ago.) I walked up and asked him if he needed help. He said that he had intentionally drained the battery so that he "wouldn't be tempted" because "he wasn't supposed to be driving". His dad came out and jumped the car. It hasn't moved since (though it is obvious no one is living in the house now).

In fact, that was the first time I saw the kid in months. No more friends over, no more cops stopping by, no more late-night excursions with the stereo blasting.

charleskieffner 09-01-2009 07:13 AM

catch some RABID BATS and let them loose in his garage/house! goth people LOVE BATS!

BUMMER DUDE ya gots the RABIES! seeya!

That's not weird, that's good.

Buy the house, demo it, and Viola. Private park just for Legion. That is one way to control what goes on.... :D

Sounds like the parents are aware, how can you not be with the police constantly showing up.

Possible they got through to him on some level.

legion 09-01-2009 07:30 AM

I've never been entirely convinced that the parents weren't up to something shady.

The husband claimed to be some kind of venture capitalist, but he worked days at Dick's Sporting Goods selling exercise equipment. The wife has been MIA most of the two years they've lived there. I stopped seeing her car there months ago.
