Yes...that is the Finish Line circa 1993 or so. I've known Louis since I was a kid. Saw him not too long ago. He's doing really well. I think he's restoring a Speedster now. One of this areas best kept secrets for sure. I think I met him when I was about 14 or 15 yrs old. I actually painted his sign (which you can barely see) and designed his logo. I also did Moss' Mosport logo that he used on his shirts, business cards etc... |

(What, you missed it???) |
Just to add some color to my thread and as requested:
A painting that I did for my buddy in CT who owned Momentum Tuning. It's a rear engined 400+ hp MKII GTi. Euro Tuner magazine car of the year a few years ago. (04 or 05). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1221362072.jpg No story...just a Viper I did for somebody http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1221362092.jpg They're not all cars. This was my family's house in Meriden, CT. I love painting architectural renderings as well. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1221362262.gif |

Thank you for the compliment...I don't sweat them most of the time. I think it just got to me yesterday because I had posted in the thread. I don't even know if the guy was referring to me, but it got me thinking about it. You know...most of these guys probably know 10x more than I do but it's kinda like my view I always had toward good looking girls. I always liked the ones that didn't know how good looking they were. (or at least didn't show it). Same thing here. Sure...your smart...you know your cars...I get it...but you don't have to rub it in everybody's face at every chance you get! It's the whole attitude thing I guess.... |

Thanks Dave! Anytime you want one of your car you let me know. SmileWavy It's actually been a while since I have painted a Porsche, so i'm getting the urge. Saw you a couple weeks ago turning in by Winn Dixie. Looks good! Sounded good! |
TMSAutoart (Terry),
I saw the post you referred to and i was kinda thinkin' the same way. Why so harsh? I don't even really like the " search button is your friend" response when used on noobies (not that long ago I was a Noob. I may still be one?) You are correct... many do post short, frivolous answers that are non-productive. New owners are the lifeblood of this board and they look to the experienced ones for advice. Chasing them away with sarcastic comments is counter-productive. I didn't know you were an artist. Is watercolour your preferred medium? PS: Timely post. |

Well said! I couldn't agree more! As for as the painting goes, yes, I enjoy painting in watercolors (or watercolours for you all north of the border and over seas :D). People seem to be impressed when they find out the paintings are watercolors. It's a challenge. I paint in oils as well, but haven't done any lately. I'm actually going to paint a picture of Jerry Seinfelds Pre A Gmund in oils. A nice big one. I took some great pics of it a couple years back |
just found this old print....so I scanned it (poorly I might add) But you get the idea. Zoom in on the headlight/ turn signal / oil cooler fittings etc. and you can see some of the detail.

Terry,
Really love the Maserati Birdcage? Type 61? (I think). The first one. How Large is the original? Guessing pretty good sized. Very Nice. Do you do work for Architects? Developers? |

No reply from the newb, though. I kid, I kid. :D The art is great, even more amazing that it's done in watercolors, IMO. |
[QUOTE=surflvr911sc;4178182]How much of the post count is guys posting "sub'd" in the thread because they are too damn retarded to use the "subscribe to thread" selection under "thread tools" at the top.
Oh crap.... uh, er, um... guilty as charged. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif BTW, if you knew me face to face, you'd know there was a reason my post count is fairly large for the time I have been here. Reminds of this great Foghorn Leghorn line: http://www.mcneel.com/users/jb/foghorn/putput.wav But then I also do not go around giving people the business for low PC's. I just had a lot more to learn...:D |

Sorry I missed the opportunity to answer before.... Thanks for the compliments. The original wasn't that big. I think 18x24. Pretty good size, but not "big". Attached is a pic of the Jag framed/ matted. The Birdcage might have been a tad bigger than that. That Maserati is beautiful and it's part of the Brumos collection as it was commisioned by Bob Snodgrass before he passed away. I believe it was given as a gift from Bob to the or one of the owners of the car. Not sure.... I wish I knew more of the history on that car. I did do some architectural stuff for a guy back in college, but it was a marker rendering and I only did it once. I have however, painted lots and lots of architectural renderings and it has been suggested that I try and do some work w/ architects. I love old buildings and houses. Spent lots of afternoons all over CT/ New Haven painting .... I'm actually trying to get back into being an artist almost full time again after putting it on the sideline for a couple years. So if you know anybody...... SmileWavy Thanks for the promo Byron...Your a good man. BTW...i'm not that pricey really..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1224734677.jpg |
Terry,
You're a very talented artist! I ought to know, as I have a very post count!!! |

There are ones (actually ONE) who believe that that must add something to other’s posts – even when it is extremely evident that they clearly ‘know not’ what they are talking about. I am very hesitant about posting questions because the same one feels that they MUST interject their opinion and those who actually have the knowledge/experience do not answer because this poser has already tainted the thread… maybe as an attempt to show their intelligence. This purported intelligence, which is repeatedly forced into the threads, is, at the very least, highly questionable. Further, this person apparently has an ego problem and so much wants to be something that they are not. I clearly have noted the dynamically evolving areas in which they claim to specialize in – this, of course, changes depending upon the circumstances. I could only hope that we are comfortable enough with ourselves to behave appropriately (without pretending to be something that we are not). This Pelican Parts Persona that this annoying poster has adopted is rather transparent, unconvincing, and, at times, laughable. Many folks here with high post counts are an asset to the board; however, I do not include this ONE who must inundate the rest of the Pelican community with their tripe.
